International Arts and Antiquities Security Forum Conference
The International Arts and Antiquities Security Forum (IAASF) is hosting a conference on 23-24 June 2021, in Darlington [United Kingdom]. IAASF is an organisation dedicated to supporting and educating a global audience in the protection of arts, antiquities and cultural heritage. Every year a conference is held to offer the opportunity to heritage professionals (e.g. curators, archivists, archaeologists, etc.) to come together and discuss with security professionals best practices and latest advice for the protection of cultural heritage. The conference of this year “Protecting Cultural Heritage in a Global Pandemic” wants to help the sector that has been hit hard during the pandemic having to close or operating with limited staff, and in some cases having to deal not only with the pandemic but also with other threats like conflicts, situations of civil unrest etc. The conference will discuss possible threats that can impact cultural heritage (e.g. wars, climate change, etc.), as well as sensible and effective security approaches that can be adopted to minimise the risks assessed.
To support the sector, heritage professionals can reserve their place for free. These are the two links to the website of the event (https://bit.ly/IAASFConference2021) and the Eventbrite page (https://bit.ly/IAASFWebsite) where more info is available.
